New releases of each of Microsoft’s four Dynamics enterprise resource planning (ERP) products, its retail management products, and the Dynamics CRM customer relationship management application will be delivered by the end of 2010, according to announcements at Convergence 2008, the company’s annual conference for customers and partners of the Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) group. Microsoft also announced a partnership with EDS intended to push Dynamics CRM into large call centers. However, the company provided no information on the MBS roadmap beyond 2010 and has shied away from the previously stated goal of consolidating its ERP products on a single code base.

Abbreviated Roadmap

Microsoft executives at Convergence reaffirmed that Microsoft is “committed to the entire Dynamics portfolio,” suggesting that they have put off plans for consolidating some of the company’s overlapping ERP product lines. However, the roadmaps shown did not extend beyond 2010, and Microsoft did not discuss releases beyond the next versions of the products in the portfolio.
