Office 365 will receive improvements for communications filtering, discussion, document sharing, and development in the next year. Office 365 is a set of service plans that combines Microsoft-hosted online services with subscription licenses to the Office suite and related software. The planned features help users deal with high volumes of communication across multiple channels, and the new APIs and tools will simplify building Web and mobile clients that access Office 365 data. However, some features raise difficult policy questions, and the APIs and tools are in flux. Also, on-premises software customers might never get some of the new features.
What Is Office 365?
Office 365 is a set of subscription plans, each including one or more of the following components:
- Exchange Online, a messaging and collaboration service based on Exchange Server 2013 that also incorporates the Exchange Online Protection filtering service
- SharePoint Online, a service for document sharing, Web-based collaboration,
