- Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise will get some security patches on Windows 10 systems through Oct. 2028.
- The policy offers extra time to roll out PCs that can run Windows 11.
- Even for those with Windows 10 ESUs, the extra time is months, not years.
The Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise Office suite will receive security updates and some other support on Windows 10 systems through Oct. 2028. The accompanying chart shows the latest end-of-support dates for Office suite versions (top), specific Windows versions (left), and their combinations.
More Time for Windows 10 PCs
The policy, announced in May 2025, gives customers more time to replace PCs that won’t run Windows 11. (It also applies to Windows Server 2016 and 2019, which commonly run the suite in so-called “session desktops” managed by the Remote Desktop Services role.) The newly announced policy does not even require Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESUs). However, Windows 10 PCs without ESUs will be unpatched and vulnerable after Oct. 2025.
