Analyst ReportOptimization Pack Virtualizes Office 2013, Roams Apps UI
The Desktop Optimization Pack has been updated with support for Windows 8.1 and virtualization of Office 2013. The updated pack includes Application Virtualization (App-V) 5.0 SP2, which provides support for virtualizing volume-licensed editions of Office 2013, an important capability for many large customers. It also includes User Experience Virtualization (UE-V) 2.0, which supports roaming of settings for Windows Store apps on Windows 8.1. The App-V and UE-V updates work with Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2. App-V 5.0 can be complicated to deploy, but Microsoft has provided clear instructions for creating App-V 5.0 SP2 packages containing Office 2013 or 2010.
