Outlook on the Web is changing mail filtering features and adding new features for automating calendar management and file sharing. The new features could help manage inbound message volume, more easily share calendar availability, and simplify file attachment sharing. However, the changes could require internal user training, and some new features could raise privacy or data leakage concerns for organizations.

Outlook on the Web

Outlook on the Web, formerly known as Outlook Web App, is a browser-based client included with Exchange Server and Exchange Online, part of the Office 365 suite of Microsoft-hosted services.

Compared with the desktop version of Outlook, Outlook on the Web offers fewer features and a limited set of mail handling options. However, new features are increasingly coming first to Exchange Online and Outlook on the Web before being migrated into the server and desktop versions.

Inbox Filtering Features Shuffled

The Clutter mail-filtering feature will be discontinued in favor of Focused Inbox, starting with Outlook on the Web in Office 365.
