- New options will allow Per-User licensing for a single app.
- A new option will license access by external users, but could become expensive.
PowerApps and Flow are low-code rapid application technologies for customizing Microsoft applications, integrating applications in custom workflows, and building custom line-of-business applications. Licensing for both technologies will change Oct. 1, 2019.
Microsoft PowerApps Licensing Changes
PowerApps enables development of interactive line-of-business applications such as purchase order trackers. Applications access data in applications (such as SharePoint Online and Dynamics 365) through a large library of data connectors, and in an extensible database service called the Common Data Service (CDS). PowerApps competes with products from third-party vendors, including GeneXus, Kony, Mendix, Outsystems, Progress Software, and WaveMaker, but it offers tighter integration into Office 365 and Dynamics 365 than most third-party offerings.
