Premier Mission Critical Support (PMCS) is aimed at mission-critical applications built on Windows Server and SQL Server. PMCS, which promises support from experienced engineers who are familiar with the customer’s application, represents the first time that Microsoft has offered a financial guarantee that it will respond to support incidents within a fixed time period, and it may help Microsoft sell its platform to enterprises that hitherto might have been concerned about the level of support that Microsoft could provide.

Dedicated Staff

According to Marco di Giacomo, the senior director of offering development for Microsoft Services, PMCS is expected to appeal to customers for whom the failure of a critical application can be very costly, and who will pay a premium for a very fast response from the most expert people.

PMCS requires that a customer already have a Premier Support agreement, which covers all Microsoft products at a customer’s site. By adding PMCS for specific applications, customers get the following:
