Project 2010 Previewed
The next version of Microsoft’s desktop and server application for project management, Project 2010, has new interface features (including the Office Ribbon), a new timeline scheduling feature, and a new team planner, which can help project planners begin planning more quickly and allow management to see overall project schedule and resource allocation status without the need for full details. Project Web Access has been enhanced to include more features of the stand-alone client, and large-scale project portfolio management and optimization, previously provided by Project Portfolio Server, has been merged into Project Server 2010. Project Server 2010 is 64-bit only and is based on SharePoint Server 2010 and Windows Server 2008, so customers may need to update their server infrastructures.
