Project Honolulu Offers Ad-hoc Server Management
Project Honolulu, available in preview, offers ad-hoc management and troubleshooting of on-premises instances of Windows Servers with an extensible set of browser-based management tools. It supplements tools like Operations Management Suite and System Center and could be particularly useful with the Server Core minimal install mode. However, the preview currently lacks functionality commonly used in day-to-day administration, and it does not replace tools for deploying and managing servers at scale.
Browser-Based Server Management Tools
Project Honolulu is the code name for a locally deployed, browser-based system management console that incorporates the functionality of many popular Windows maintenance and management utilities. It can manage all editions and installation modes of Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, and Windows Server 2012. It replaces and expands on Azure Server Management Tools (SMT), a discontinued Web-based server management console that was hosted in Azure. The Honolulu console, in contrast, is deployed locally.
