The SQL Server 2008 R2 Software License Terms (previously called End User License Agreement, or EULA) outlines customers’ usage rights and is downloadable via a form on www.microsoft.com/about/legal/useterms/default.aspx.
Microsoft’s quarterly Product Use Rights (PUR) document, which repeats and supplements the provisions of a product’s Software License Terms with additional rights and restrictions affecting volume licensing program customers, is available via a link on www.microsoft.com/licensing/about-licensing/product-licensing.aspx. The chapters “Microsoft Servers—Server/CAL” and “Microsoft Servers—Per Processor” cover SQL Server.
Microsoft’s “Product List for Volume Licensing” document, updated monthly and posted at www.microsoftvolumelicensing.com/userights/PL.aspx, explains some SQL Server 2008 R2 licensing details, including virtualization rules for Enterprise.
