Windows and Windows Server

Licensing the Windows Server Remote Desktop Services role, which provides key server-based desktop technologies, is described in “Licensing Windows Server Remote Desktop Services” on page 20 of the Jan. 2015 Update.

Recent technical improvements to Microsoft’s server-based desktop infrastructure are presented in the “Remote Desktop Services Adds Windows 8 Support” chapter of the May 2013 Research Report, “Windows Server 2012 Evaluation Guide.”
