The Azure Static Web Apps service, which is generally available, hosts Web sites that do not require server-side page generation.
What Are Static Web Apps?
The static Web app architecture relies on client-side processing to render Web pages from HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other asset (for example, image) files. It has become popular and is supported by dozens of libraries and frameworks, such as Angular and React. Static Web apps originally targeted simpler applications such as blogs and informational sites (GitHub Pages, for example, offers a free simple static Web app for each repository), but the term “static” has become a misnomer because it refers only to the server’s perspective of the app. Static Web app frameworks combine client-side code that calls server-side APIs (such as those that access databases) to build dynamic sites that previously required server-side processing.
