Microsoft product recommendations and support combinations differ between servicing options for Windows 10 and Office. The chart below summarizes the recommended, supported, and unsupported combinations of Windows 10 servicing branches and Office 365 ProPlus servicing channels based on TechNet articles updated in Nov. 2016.

Servicing branches and channels define how often Microsoft delivers new versions of the products and how often customers must apply new versions to qualify for security updates and other support. Windows 10 offers four servicing branches: Windows Insider Preview, Current Branch (CB), Current Branch for Business (CBB), and Long-Term Servicing Branch (LTSB). Office 365 ProPlus offers three servicing channels: Current Channel, First Release for Deferred Channel, and Deferred Channel.

For this chart, unsupported means in the event of a problem Microsoft support personnel might require the organization to reproduce the problem on a supported configuration.

Running Office 365 ProPlus on the Windows 10 LTSB is unsupported. The updated Microsoft support policies for Windows 10 define two device roles for Windows 10:
