Surface Studio devices are available for pre-order and will ship in Dec. 2016. The Surface Studio is the first Microsoft-branded desktop PC. It will implement planned digital ink and 3D graphics capabilities of Windows and Office that could assist with graphic design and other visual tasks.

The Surface Studio is self-contained and features a thin, touch-enabled 28-inch display with a resolution of 4500×3000 at 192DPI. The display provides up to 10 touchpoints and works with the Surface Pen. A new included peripheral, the Surface Dial, can be placed on the screen to enable software-enabled features like scrolling, zooming, or navigation. (Surface Dial will also be available separately for other Surface family devices.)

Surface Studio devices will be available in three configurations, with an Intel i5 or i7 Skylake processor, and offer up to 2TB of solid-state drive (SSD) storage, 32GB of RAM, and 4GB of video RAM. Prices start at US$2,999 for the base model, running Windows 10 Pro.
