Analyst ReportSystem Center 2012 Roadmap Updated
Updates to the entire System Center line of management products were among the topics covered at the Microsoft Management Summit conference in Mar. 2011. The roadmap for System Center 2012 shows an increasing emphasis on management of both private and public clouds using virtualization. As part of the 2012 wave of updates, some products will be rebranded and new products will join the System Center line. Microsoft also updated the Desktop Optimization Pack and released Windows Intune, a set of online PC management, software update, and antimalware services. The new lineup offers customers solutions for on-premises or cloud-based systems management.
Major Updates Coming in System Center
The System Center line is Microsoft’s product set for enterprise systems management and includes products for computer configuration, monitoring, backup, software deployment and installation, and other administrative tasks.
At the Mar. 2011 Microsoft Management Summit (MMS 2011), the company announced major updates to the entire System Center line, with betas to be released in the first half of 2011 and final releases in the second half of 2011.
