  • Teams inherits most of its management, compliance, and security capabilities from other integrated or connected services that depend on the Microsoft 365 suite selected.

Microsoft Teams is a hosted service included in all Microsoft 365 (and Office 365) suites. Described by Microsoft as a platform, Teams serves as a hub for team-based communication and collaboration. It offers organizations group-based collaboration spaces with persistent chat, voice and video meetings, integrated access to several Office 365 services, and connections to many third-party services. Core Teams management capabilities and basic retention policies come with all Microsoft 365 Enterprise suites. However, management, compliance, and security capabilities vary by suite.
