Analyst ReportWindows 10 Improves Third-Party Antimalware Compatibility
To address concerns Kaspersky raised with the European Union about noncompetitive practices, Microsoft has committed to better coordinate the release of Windows 10 versions with ISVs of antivirus and antimalware software. The improved communication and other assistance are designed to allow these ISVs to update their software prior to each Semi-annual Channel release of Windows 10. The changes should allow third-party antimalware to continue to work with new Windows 10 versions, and other ISVs and enterprise developers will benefit from access to similar communication, consideration, and coordination.
Commitments to Antimalware ISVs
To help antimalware ISVs prepare for each new version of Windows 10 released through the Semi-annual Channel, Microsoft has committed to the following:
- Work with antimalware ISVs to complete compatibility reviews in advance of releasing each new version (feature update)
