  • Windows 10 version 1909 is generally available and includes minimal feature changes from version 1903.

Windows 10 version 1909, also known as 19H2, became generally available via the Semi-Annual Channel (SAC) on Nov. 12, 2019. It contains minor changes, which should not severely delay deployment, and Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 10 1909 will be supported for 30 months. This relative stability and longer support period could make version 1909 more attractive to organizations trying to keep up with the rapid Windows 10 release cadence.

Windows Sandbox Improvements and BitLocker Key Rolling Lead Changes

Notable changes in 1909 for larger organizations include the following:

Windows Sandbox now supports mixed-version sandboxes. The feature, introduced in version 1903, provides a desktop environment for running applications in isolation to determine if an application or file is malicious. Beginning with version 1909, the Windows 10 version running in the sandbox can be different from the Windows 10 version on the device (the host OS).
