Windows Division Departures
Three vice presidents in the Windows Division have left.
Mike Nash, corporate vice president of Windows Client Product Management, is leaving Microsoft in Feb. 2010. A 19-year veteran of the company, Nash held several roles in the Windows Division. He oversaw the Security Technology Unit from 2002 to 2006, during which the company launched a major campaign, Trustworthy Computing, to improve the security of Windows and other products after a spate of well-publicized attacks. During that time, Microsoft also made its move into the antivirus and antimalware space with the acquisitions of companies such as GeCAD and Sybari, and the launch of the Forefront product line. Nash will reportedly join Amazon.com to help work on the company’s Kindle electronic book reader. A replacement has not been named.
