RoadmapAzure Government
Azure Government delivers Azure cloud services with isolation, security, and standards certification that are not offered on the public Azure cloud (commercial Azure). This offering can help eligible U.S. government agencies and their partners deploy cloud-based solutions. However, some services available in commercial Azure are not yet available in Azure Government, and the arrival of Azure services in Azure Government is not entirely predictable or assured.
Services Offered
Azure Government offers many of the most popular Azure services, such as VMs, Storage, and App Service, but some services that are generally available within commercial Azure are not yet offered or are in preview within Azure Government.
Microsoft has stated a goal of enabling 100% parity between features offered in commercial Azure and Azure Government. However, achieving such parity is an ongoing process because commercial Azure is regularly updated. Furthermore, as services arrive in Azure Government, they often do not support the full set of features available with the equivalent services offered in commercial Azure, typically due to regulatory requirements.
