Dynamics 365 Field Service is an online service, part of the Dynamics 365 CRM applications group, that provides features for field service teams to track service issues, create work orders, dispatch and coordinate field technicians, and manage inventories of spare parts.

Near Term (2025–2026)

Most Field Service updates were put on hold between Dec. 2024 and Apr. 2025, as problems with the new schedule board were resolved. Consequently, previous planned updates and the new Scheduling Operations agent were put on hold and remain in preview.

The Scheduling Operations agent (in preview as of Feb. 2025—to be generally available late 2025) can help dispatchers resolve issues, adjust for changing conditions, and optimize technician schedules. The features, which are generally found in competitors’ scheduling applications, help with issues such as weather and traffic delays, double bookings, and last-minute cancellations. However, it currently only supports user, contact, and crew types, and it does not support equipment resources.
