Near Term (2025–2026)

Supply Chain Management continues to have relatively few updates expected compared to the other applications, but customers should not be concerned, because Microsoft often staggers development efforts between applications to advance each application in different waves and allow new features to mature. The updates expected include minor changes to all areas of the application: Copilot help, inventory, manufacturing, procurement, and planning.

Copilot updates will include improvements to the general guidance chat window and a new supplier communication agent that helps automate procure-to-pay tasks. The new agent will monitor incoming e-mails and other communications and attempt to associate the e-mail content with existing purchase orders and update with changes, such as delays and shipments. It can also draft e-mail responses to help procurement agents speed up communications.
