Microsoft 365 Mobile Apps Roadmap

The Microsoft 365 Mobile Apps provide file editing and viewing for Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Word on iOS, iPadOS, and Android. They were formerly referred to as Office mobile, or the Office mobile apps. Although mobile Teams and Outlook are sometimes listed with Microsoft 365 Mobile Apps, they are serviced and licensed separately.

Near Term (2025-2026)

The mobile apps will integrate more Copilot natural language processing and Purview protections for sensitive documents. Some features are already available on Office for Windows, but some could be especially useful while mobile. For example:

Dynamic watermarking in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word enables documents labeled sensitive to be stamped with copy-specific distribution information or warnings.

Text theme and sentiment analysis in Excel could be useful for analyzing polling data, meeting transcriptions, or other verbatim data captured in the field.
