RoadmapPlanner Roadmap
Planner is a task and project management tool included in most Microsoft 365 suites that provides task, planning, and project management tools. The current iteration of Planner, sometimes called New Planner, incorporates the task management features of To Do, the lightweight planning features of the original Planner, and the project management features of the former Project for the Web service, with the latter offered at additional cost.

Near Term (2025)
Virtually all significant developments in Planner are focused on premium plans, although numerous incremental UI enhancements (not detailed here) extend across tasks, basic plans, and premium plans.
Plans from Dynamics 365 Project Operations and Project Online are listed in Planner, but they open in their respective services, providing users with an overall view of their assigned projects.
A new Portfolios feature allows users to group tasks and premium plans into portfolios that provide a consolidated view of assigned tasks and plan status for all plans in the portfolio group. Planner users require Project Plan 3 or 5 to create, view, and edit portfolios; Planner Plan 1 allows users to view portfolios that have been shared.
