RoadmapService Fabric
Service Fabric is a free microservice orchestration platform that can enable highly scalable, distributed, reliable solutions. It works best with solutions with separable components that can scale independently. The platform software can run in Azure, other clouds, and on-premises. Service Fabric has overlapping functionality with the popular Kubernetes container orchestration technology that Microsoft also supports in Azure.
Overview
Microservices are typically small portions of functionality that can work together to comprise an application or provide services to other applications. Service Fabric consists of a runtime, administration tools and interfaces, and developer SDKs for building, deploying, managing, and monitoring microservices. The platform was created for Azure and underpins several Azure services, such as SQL Database, App Service, and Event Hubs. Other Microsoft services, such as Intune, also use Service Fabric. The Service Fabric software is also available for deployment outside of Azure on customer or third-party hardware.
