RoadmapStatic Web Apps
The Azure Static Web Apps service hosts Web sites that do not require server-side page generation.
Service Overview
The static Web app architecture relies on client-side processing to render Web pages from static HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other asset (for example, image) files. Static Web app frameworks combine client-side code that calls server-side APIs (such as those that access databases) to build dynamic sites that do not require server-side page rendering.
Static Web apps are supported by dozens of libraries and frameworks, such as Angular and React. The model reduces hosting requirements, such as the need for a particular OS, Web server, framework, and hardware scale and specifications, because the Web server role reverts to that of a file server that delivers HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and asset files to clients. Thus, there is a potential reduction of cost and management overhead for organizations that deploy static Web apps instead of traditional (server-generated) Web applications.
