  • Microsoft Edge progressive rollouts from the stable channel
  • Microsoft Teams updates from the standard automatic update channel.

Product Description

Autopatch uses sets of eligibility requirements and rings or groups of similarly situated devices and users to determine whether a device should receive a specific update, and when the update should be applied to each device. Autopatch also uses criteria to determine if devices are in a healthy update state and monitors overall update deployment progress to provide status reports on service-level objectives.

Autopatch essentially delegates update management of some Microsoft desktop and client operating systems and applications on Windows client devices to Microsoft (see fig. 1). It provides reports on the update status of devices, including any issues with recommended actions and links to documentation. Because Microsoft is coordinating the updates, Autopatch has access to insights and signals from Microsoft’s global footprint of managed devices.
