Service Overview
Azure NetApp Files implements the NetApp ONTAP storage OS in Azure to provide a virtual SAN for file-based workloads. Azure NetApp Files supports multiple protocols, such as NFS 3.0, NFS 4.1, and SMB; policy-based snapshot functionality; and replication between Azure NetApp Files deployments or between Azure and on-premises NetApp installations. The service focuses on workloads that require high-capacity, high-performance storage and supports data storage for Windows- and Linux-based applications.
Azure NetApp Files will interest customers with extensive data management requirements or with existing on-premises NetApp infrastructure. It is certified for SAP HANA, includes FIPS 140-2-compliant data encryption at rest, and offers 99.99% availability.
