Azure Confidential Computing comprises several Azure offerings, including Azure VM instance types, confidential containers, and open-source frameworks. Collectively, they are Microsoft’s approach to meeting confidential computing requirements, a growing industrywide initiative.

Near Term (2025–2026)
Confidential Containers now support additional OSs, including Azure Linux and Red Hat Open Shift (both in preview) as well as Ubuntu 24.04 (generally available).
Confidential VMs continue to add support for additional VM families as they are introduced.
A new product, Confidential Clean Rooms, was announced in Nov. 2024 and is in private preview. It is intended to enable multiparty secure collaboration for highly sensitive data, such as personally identifiable information (PII) or protected health information (PHI).
Long Term (Beyond 2026)
Confidential Computing will continue to be updated to support the latest versions of Azure VMs as well as OSs.
