RoadmapServer Application Version Support
This chart displays server application compatibility with Windows Server and SQL Server versions under Mainstream or Extended support. Versions supported only by Extended Security Updates (ESUs), such as Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012, are not displayed.
Checked indicates supported combinations of versions that Microsoft has announced. Some combinations will require an application or OS update (not listed) to be eligible for support.
Unchecked indicates combinations that are not supported or that have no announced plans for support.
Server Application compatibility with SQL Server 2022, released in Nov. 2022, remains limited. While most server applications do not explicitly support SQL Server 2022, some (like SharePoint Server) can be used with SQL Server 2022 if the associated database is set to an appropriate database compatibility level.
Windows Server entries assume the Desktop Experience installation mode, which is required by most Microsoft server applications. Compatibility information for Windows Server 2022 in Server Core and Desktop Experience installation modes and recent versions of several Microsoft applications is available at https://learn.microsoft.com/windows-server/get-started/application-compatibility-windows-server-2022. This page is updated sporadically and may not reflect current updates or recent versions of applications.
