Getting the .NET Connected Logo

To get the .NET Connected Logo, organizations must apply through the Microsoft Windows Logo Program Qualification Service (which handles other logo programs as well, such as the Windows Catalog).

There is no charge for logo participation, although organizations must acquire a VeriSign code-signing ID, which confirms the identity of the applicant, before submitting the application for a logo.

The software must also be tested for compliance with the logo program. Most of these tests can be done by downloading the .NET Framework and testing software. Products that consume Web services are pointed to a Web service on the Internet, from which they retrieve an identifier that they submit along with their application.

The bar is somewhat higher for BizTalk adapters, which must be submitted by Microsoft Certified Partners and must pass an architectural review by the BizTalk Server product team.

For placement in the .NET Connected Directory, organizations must supply additional information about the platform it runs on, which category (e.g., education, finance, government) it should be included in, and other information.
