Major developments for Microsoft’s business applications roadmap since the July 2016 Enterprise Software Roadmap include the following:

  • The Office 2013 version of Office 365 ProPlus will stop receiving updates in Feb. 2017.
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) became generally available for SharePoint Online and Microsoft-hosted OneDrive for Business.
  • Office Online Server customers require Software Assurance or subscription licenses as of Aug. 2016 to have rights to edit and save files with its component applications.
  • SharePoint Server 2016 received its first feature pack ahead of schedule in Nov. 2016.
  • Project Online delivered mobile portfolio dashboard applications for Web browsers and iPad.
  • Visio Online, Visio for iPad, and other planned Visio enhancements were announced in Aug. 2016.
  • Duet Enterprise is not included in SharePoint Server 2016 and leaves Extended support in 2020.
  • Microsoft MyAnalytics, originally called Delve Analytics, became available for production
