Major changes in Microsoft’s systems management, security, and identity management roadmap since the Mar. 2013 Enterprise Software Roadmap include the following:

  • Global Service Monitor service became available as part of System Center 2012 SP1 in Mar. 2013.
  • A public preview of a System Center Advisor Connector for Operations Manager, which connects information from the online Advisor monitoring service with System Center 2012 SP1 to provide best practices and problem remediation information, is now available.
  • Advisor became available to customers without Software Assurance.
  • A preview of a System Center Monitoring Management Pack for Azure applications, which allows customers to use on-premises infrastructure (Operations Manager) to monitor Azure resources, can be downloaded for testing.
  • A public paid preview of Azure Backup, which helps customers protect important server data off-site using automated backups through Data Protection Manager, is now available.
