  • Dynamics 365 Online will replace plans, some prices will increase, and bundled features will be removed from applications in favor of à la carte licensing.
  • The changes are planned for Oct. 1, 2019, and will increase cost for most customers, even if usage remains the same.
  • Customers should budget cautiously, as further licensing changes could come before Oct. 2019.

Dynamics 365 is a family of on-premises products and online services that provide customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), retail management, and associated business functionality, targeted for midsize and large organizations.

New Packaging Approach

Packaging changes planned for Oct. 1, 2019, will require Dynamics 365 Online customers to purchase applications and add-on capabilities separately. Under the current approach, Dynamics customers can buy Plan licenses that include multiple applications and benefits such as extra storage and minimum user levels. Applications also include rights to other capabilities, such as Dynamics 365 Marketing and the PowerApps software development platform.
