  • Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement uses à la carte packaging for applications, add-ons, and other integrated services.
  • Mapping user requirements to required licenses is a complex effort that must be maintained to control cost.
  • License compliance is rarely enforced, requiring considerable vigilance and review to avoid noncompliance issues.

Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement is a label given to a collection of sales and customer relationship management (CRM) online service applications that run together in a customer’s tenancy, sharing a common storage infrastructure that contains databases, files, and log entries. These core business applications in the Customer Engagement lineup are primarily licensed separately via their own User SLs (Subscription Licenses) and Device SLs, with additional storage-related fees if certain default thresholds are exceeded. Each application can also be augmented, at additional charge, with a variety of Dynamics 365–branded offerings.
