SidebarDynamics 365 Operations Overview
Dynamics 365 Operations (also called Unified Operations and Finance & Operations) is a collection of applications that provide enterprise resource planning (ERP), retail management, and human resources (HR) features for multinational and midmarket companies and enterprises. Operations is the successor to Dynamics AX.
An on-premises server product, called Dynamics 365 Operations Server, provides a subset of the core components for finance, supply chain management, project operations, and commerce. On-premises deployments are often used in a hybrid configuration with local manufacturing or retail activities being synchronized with a hosted deployment. Consequently, Microsoft updates the on-premises server product on the same schedule as the hosted service.
Operations include the following major components, which are also part of its packaging:
Finance provides core business features including finance and accounting.
Supply Chain Management provides warehousing, inventory, logistics, procurement, and shipping functionality.
