Microsoft Priva is a set of dashboards and tools focused on detecting, mitigating, and responding to privacy-related issues. Generally available in Nov. 2021 (originally branded as “Privacy Management,” it was subsequently rebranded “Priva”, it centralizes and extends existing Microsoft 365 compliance functionality and provides new privacy-specific administrative roles. It is licensed as two separate capabilities: risk and user subject requests.

Priva is accessed through the Compliance Center (compliance.microsoft.com). (See the illustration “Privacy Management Overview.”)
It focuses on two specific separately licensed areas:
Risk helps manage and mitigate risks associated with processing personal data, sometimes called personally identifiable information (PII), such as driver’s license numbers, credit card numbers, telephone numbers, and so on.
