Azure Managed Instance for Apache Cassandra is a PaaS cloud service that supports current community editions of Apache Cassandra in Azure datacenters. It provides access to Azure’s global reach, advanced security controls, and integration with other Azure offerings; however, it has control and database size limits that may limit its usefulness. Microsoft does not alter the underlying open-source product, which allows customers to move existing applications with minimal modification.

The service requires existing Cassandra expertise and will most likely interest customers who are:
