Introduction

Power BI is Microsoft’s primary data visualization offering. It contains several integrated software and Microsoft cloud components, which are used collectively to build datasets (also called semantic data models), data pipelines, and data marts, and to create and share reports, dashboards, and other business-intelligence (BI) content.

The Power BI product entry includes a detailed explanation of the product and components, deployment and management requirements, as well as a summary of pricing and licensing requirements.

The Power BI Roadmap entry summarizes recent updates, planned features, and likely future developments, as well as scheduled deprecations and retirements.

The Power BI Licensing entries simplify and clarify the complex service and user licensing requirements, as well as highlight additional dependencies and traps that customers will encounter.

This evaluation kit brings together reference entries, reports, and other Directions on Microsoft resources to help evaluate the updated service and provide guidance on Power BI.
