Dynamics 365 online CRM-related applications are offered in various individual components, which are sold via User Subscription Licenses (User SLs), Device SLs, and capacity-related models. CRM-related components consist of multiple applications, shown on the left as:

• Sales
• Customer Service
• Field Service

Each application targets a specific business function, and applications are licensed individually.

Client Types

Multiple categories of CRM-related subscription licenses are available and can be purchased in any combination. Starting from the least functional to the most functional, the available subscriptions are the following:

Team Member User SLs (top) provide users full read access across all applications and in addition some write access for select light tasks, such as access to accounts, contacts, or time/expense entry and work order approvals.

Professional-level User SLs (left) are available as Sales Professional and Customer Service Professional. Each licenses basic use of the associated full application and is designed for users who need more functionality than a Team Member subscription offers, such as updating sales orders and proposals, but do not need the full set of features available with an Enterprise (full application) subscription. These licenses also include Team Member rights to access the other applications.
