  • System Center 2022 has been updated to add support for the Azure Stack HCI 22H2 host OS and SQL Server 2022 database software.
  • The update enables organizations to manage some aspects of on-premises VMs from Azure, which could help customers with hybrid systems.
  • System Center 2019, while still in Mainstream support, is unlikely to gain support for managing newer software or for Azure integration.

System Center 2022 Update Rollup 1 (UR1) adds support for Azure Stack HCI 22H2 and SQL Server 2022 and enables Azure management tools to work with System Center–managed VMs on-premises. The System Center software suite supports numerous management and monitoring tasks for on-premises server and data center management. Although System Center continues to be regularly updated, most updates focus on support for new OS and application versions, with new server and data center management capabilities increasingly reserved for Azure-hosted services.
