Azure Confidential Ledger is a PaaS offering that provides secure blockchain ledgers for controlling the logging, validating, and sharing of sensitive transactions. It can benefit organizations without extensive blockchain expertise, and it can be used to replace secure database applications that perform similar transactional logging.

Near Term Updates and Roadmap (2025–2026)

Confidential Ledger has received minimal updates since it became generally available in July 2022, other than achieving ISO 27001 certification (an international standard for information security) and SOC 2 T Type II compliance (a standard for data security, availability, confidentiality). The certification and compliance levels help customers use the service in regulated industries.

Long Term (Beyond 2026) 

There are very few improvements planned for Confidential Ledger, other than new tagging features for organization and user-defined functions to help developers address unique requirements that can’t be resolved with the APIs.
