Dynamics 365 received a CRM-only update in Dec. 2016 that introduces administrative features that simplify management of online tenancies and process flows and developer tools to help build simple custom applications. Functional improvements include remote equipment monitoring to improve responsiveness to potential issues, project planning options to optimize the use of field agents, and other user productivity features. The Dynamics team continues significant investment in the CRM product, and preview features indicate that the trend will continue. However, most enhancements are for online customers, and some of the new features will require add-on subscriptions to be effective.

Dynamics 365 is a family of on-premises products and online services that provide customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) functionality. It is the successor to the Dynamics CRM Online and Dynamics AX Online offerings and targets midsize and large organizations.
