- Blueprints could help organizations better manage Azure resources and cost.
- Blueprints will require a time investment to deploy.
Azure Blueprints is a new piece of Azure functionality that offers JSON-based templates that allow organizations to control how Azure resources will be created, managed, and secured. This control is performed by combining multiple Azure management components into one template and applying these templates in a reproducible way.
Service Overview
Blueprints are created and stored within Azure Management Groups, which are containers that organize Azure subscriptions.
Azure subscriptions group resources and administrative rights and are typically assigned to product or area sub-teams (for example, by application project). Each management group typically belongs to a business unit or activity, such as software development or marketing, a geography, or a project unit, and it includes all subscriptions for that entity.
