Project 2016 clients deliver new resource planning capabilities to help allocate resources and analyze utilization, and enhanced timeline features to help simplify presentation of project data to non-project team members. The clients also enhance support for Office add-ins, which allows for more robust custom applications to address unique requirements. Most of the new features are limited to the Project Professional client and only work with Project Online and Project Server 2016. The Project roadmap calls for a Project Server release in May 2016, an enhanced Web application that may be more attractive than the expensive stand-alone client, new mobile applications, and integration with Office 365 services.
