Viva Goals Roadmap

Viva Goals, one of several components in Microsoft’s Employee Experience Platform (EXP), is a Teams app that lets organizations align teams and individual users with top-level priorities through the user of objectives and key results (OKRs). Managers track and communicate progress through Teams to help employees meet their objectives.

Near Term (2025)

Goals is scheduled for retirement in Dec. 2025. There is no migration option from Viva Goals, as Microsoft is not providing a replacement solution; however, Goals data can be downloaded via an API or to Excel or PowerPoint.

Customers should cancel stand-alone Goals subscriptions as soon as possible to avoid renewal charges, and Viva Suite customers should evaluate whether remaining components (Amplify, Glint, Insights, and Pulse) are still worth the license cost.

Servicing

Viva Goals, like all services in the Viva brand, follows the Online Services support policy. Microsoft supports only the latest version of the services and can make changes at any time. Microsoft promises 30 days’ advance notice before it changes the services significantly and 12 months’ notice before it discontinues the services without a replacement.
