  • Copilot for Power BI and Copilot for Fabric features are now available for most Power BI and Fabric users via a special Fabric billing option.
  • The billing feature, called Fabric Copilot capacity, removes the restriction that limited Copilot to high-end deployments.
  • Costs can be aggregated by department for internal billing, and Copilot use can be restricted to select users.
  • Copilot in Power BI and Fabric is still not available for Premium EM or Azure Power BI Embedded users.

Fabric Copilot capacity is a new billing option for Power BI and Fabric that removes the restriction that has kept Power BI Pro, Premium Per-User, and some Fabric users from accessing Copilot in Power BI and Fabric. The billing option allows customers to grant users access to Copilot in Power BI and Fabric and charge their Copilot costs against specific Fabric deployments. The billing option will mostly benefit Power BI developers who build datasets and reports as well as Fabric developers who create machine learning processes, pipelines, and lakehouses.
