Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement on-premises software provides customer relationship management (CRM) customer service, field service, and sales components. The illustration outlines the licenses for Dynamics 365 Server and the technical features and capabilities each makes accessible.

Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement on-premises consists of multiple applications (shown on the left as Customer Service, Field Service, and Sales). Each application targets a specific business function and is licensed individually.

Multiple categories of Dynamics 365 licenses are available, including user and device Client Access Licenses (CALs) and User Subscription Licenses (User SLs), and they can be purchased in any combination. Dynamics 365 On-Premises CALs and User SLs are not included as part of the Core CAL Suite or Enterprise CAL Suite offerings.

Team Member CALs (top – middle) provide users full read access across all Dynamics 365 on-premises applications as well as some write access for select light tasks, such as access to accounts, contacts, and leads or time/expense entry and human resources record updates. Team Member is available as either a User or Device CAL. Team Member access is not available via a User SL.
