Dynamics 365, as of Apr. 2024, is licensed by a mix of user, device, and capacity subscription licenses for individual applications, application-specific add-ons, and stand-alone services. The accompanying illustration details the primary subscription offerings in the Dynamics 365 product family and outlines the levels of technical features and capabilities licensed via various User Subscription Licenses (User SLs), Device SLs, and capacity-based subscriptions.

Core Business Applications

The core business applications along the left of the illustration, are subdivided into two major groups: customer relationship management (CRM)- and enterprise resource planning (ERP)-related applications.

Subscriptions that license access to an individual application are shown on the left edge, usually labeled as “Enterprise” or “Premium.” They provide access to all the core application’s features. Other subscriptions, labeled as “Professional,” “Contractor,” or “HR Self-Service,” license a subset of features. All application subscriptions also provide Team Member-level access to the other Dynamics 365 Services core applications. Note that there are some technical limitations on a customer’s ability to mix Enterprise and Professional subscription levels within a single Dynamics 365 Services installation.
