Lync client updates continue to deliver more desktop functionality to tablet and mobile users, although capabilities still vary substantially. This chart lists the most important client applications and Web interfaces for Lync Server 2013 and the latest version of the Microsoft-hosted Lync Online service (part of the Office 365 suite of services). It highlights the major changes from updates released in the first half of 2014.

The chart summarizes the major Lync feature areas covered by each client; however, each client implements a different subset of Lync features, so organizations will have to consult Microsoft’s extensive client comparison tables for exact capabilities. The chart designates features that received significant changes since Dec. 2014 with an asterisk.
